plot
Time has gone rogue.
Once a Wonderlander much like Jefferson the Hatter or Anastasia the Red Queen, Time was benevolent. Friendly, playful and teasing, the all-powerful being had a special talent. He could, in essence, control the past, present and future and fast-forward or rewind as he pleased. Generally Time was a safeguard; he kept watch over the different realms and played silly tricks on them sometimes but more often than not, he simply observed. One day though, strange rifts began to appear all around the realms. These rifts had no inner spacial definition and began to suck characters into them, dropping these characters in other eras, realms, time periods, locations and even universes like portals. Individuals have gone missing a couple of times now, but for the most part, the portals seem to open up and then return these characters from their strange adventures back home. At least... they did. Recently the rifts have begun to stay open longer, bleeding the edges of worlds together to the point where just about anything could happen. On top of that, there have been strange sightings of what might even be Time himself as individuals hop between worlds. They say he can appear in two forms: As an owl, or a handsome young man whose face eludes all recollection.
What is Time up to? Who is he? What caused him to join all the worlds? What's all this outgrabe this business got to do with toves? And most importantly, what happens if you run out of Time? Some Notes
When creating your applications, you can choose how to interpret your characters based on Time's ability to manipulate space. Just remember, once you choose a starting point for your character, they can no longer have the memories of anything from their futures (if they have been rewound) unless special permission to fast-forward is granted by an admin, from Time. And visa-versa.
OAUT: If you wanted to say, take Killian and rewind him to his pirate days before he even knew Emma and make him a full blown pirate, that would be entirely possible. Emma could then come from an imagined future where she and Killian were married and then bam, after Time's little trick - Killian doesn't even know who she is and Emma is heartbroken - new plot place to begin. There is so much potential for plots with these rifts! Please feel free to do as you wish with your characters much within reason! (All future characters who have events not portrayed in the Ouat series will have to write a full app detailing all of this, regardless of it being the second or even third. Unless the entire staff agrees however that your made-up canon fits the character, they may take quite a bit more work to pass for an acceptance. That said, don't let this deter you. Convince us you know your baby and we'll agree.)
SHAKESPEARE: With Shakespeare then there is a lot of blood and gore. The deaths of such characters can be played upon if wished, but it's not required. If you however wanted to take someone who dies, say Cleopatra and bring her back from the point in the play just when she has seen that Antony had already died and then someone else brings Antony back from a time in the play which he was so furious with her he leaves, that would be perfectly alright as well.
There is also always also the option to modernize these characters and give them a time-skip to take and personify them as they would be in our time period. Since the time rifts drop characters from the past into the present, there are opportunities of all sorts. Pick a point in their play for the rift to bring them to the future and go from there. No made-up stories will be allowed however, so if you choose to say modernize Hamlet - his father must have died by some means, his mother married his uncle etc. (These modernized personifications will also require a full app detailing these changes, regardless of it being the second or even third.)
